20 | The Boy

It was then I realized he had been a boy all along

He demanded respect, yet commanded none.

The hid behind the facade of a man,

but had no legs upon which to stand.

He exhausted every effort to become a man,

clawing like a child from within his crib

Calling out hurtful names

in a self-inflicted position of superiority

A school yard bully onto his own game.
