19 | Untouched Sensation

the coolness of untouched bed sheets
or a pane of window glass on an autumn day
the simple things
these sensations decorate my dreams
a cool summer’s night under the stars
a dark realm riddled with gentle sparks of light

the streaming air from the air conditioning
gently caressing my eardrums
pulsing of blood in my veins
the world is filled with the untouched
these things allow us to continue
or to rest from a day of work

in the end
these are the things which matter most
the simple things
the thoughtful glance of an other
or the arrival of an other at the end of the day

to see a person fill the world around us
to have the world painted with their voice
sounds penetrating through the emptiness
to entangle souls as we ride this world
