I saw a man down by the river
a trench coat complete with fishing hat.
He looked miserable and downtrodden
so I brought him in and fed him 'til he was fat.
He laughed and made merry
as we danced as a family all night.
A man without a past he was
but tonight everything was all right.
A year later in winter as I remember
the man was drunk from a keg he did borrow
and broke through the ice
leaving us all in such sorrow.
He roams the grounds as a ghost
from sunrise to sunset.
Like magic he lifts customers' spirits
just to pay off his debt.
So next time remember to give thanks
to the man who lifted your spirits
Remember that winter's night spent at Huck's
when life was no longer a bowl of pits.
