the horizon is always strived for

but never achieved

it lingers beneath the sky

and is always out there

never here

beneath my feet

it lies forever beyond my grasp

that is where I see her

and so I realize

one is not to be had

strive only to love

achieve only compassion

the horizon is an impossible dream
